Olympic Branding - London 2012
Branding the Olympics is a monumental task and I only had to do a small fraction of what is actually done for the real games. None the less the experience was great and the process was fun, exciting and challenging. I have choosen three key areas of branding the Olympics to illustrate this process, the host city logo, banner rhythms and pictograms. Each having extreme importance in the role during the games. Each having to stand on their own with energy and excitement but also stand together as one identity system. Here in lies the challenge. To create a system that maintains interest with out looking too different from visual to visual, that varies from piece to piece but still holds repition so that a viewer can easily realize that they are still in the right place and finally, but certainly not least, speak to the host city and Olympic spirit. The work below is only a small piece of what was finally delivered. To see a complete collection of the final work click here.
